Live in the moment…!

The other day, I went to visit a fort on high mountain with my close friend & our families. That day the rain fell incessantly . We motored on an unmotorable off-road path for few miles experiencing hostile nature . . We took few breaks to soak ourselves wherever we found nature’s raw beauty irresis table on our way to fort ahead . We walked our way to fort for last hour of our journey soaked in increasing rain falling on us. This day , I could resonate with the fact that - Joy is - It is not in the destination but in the journey.

As I was deliberately & uninhibitedly drenching myself - probably so much for first time - completely forgetting the physical me . I was care-free about how I look, how I perceive myself & how others perceive me even as those raindrops kept drenching me . A thought slid in my mind as I was gulping few cups of tea in the cold atmosphere at the foothill. We all wish uninterrupted rain drops of happiness to keep showering on us . What most of us lack insight into is how one should deal with those drops of hapiness as they keep falling on us. As those drops fall on us, many times, we are preoccupied with our worldly thinking - forgetting to remain in those present moments in whom we are drenChing . We shouldn’t only drench with our physical senses but with entire us and It has tobe soul deep . It is not important how long, with how many drops we drench with but how deeply we drench whatever drops falling on us . Often, we see ourselves standing in the middle of raindrops of happiness, missing the whole of it – even as we wander uncontedly somewhere in past or future - never to extract happiness from each moments of life we live . We carry so much baggage about our self ,our own persona ,our own perception in our mind- full of ourselves & what others think of us. We forget to look at things as they are - but tend to see how we want them suppose to be. We don’t present ourselves to present moments in toto as it is - drenching in those moments which may take us to greater heights , greater possibilities beyond the boundaries of our mind .

Why Nature always imparts these unstoppable rain in the mountains- at heights?-I always wonder . So in order to get those raindrops -called grace from the Creator, one needs to rise like mountains within oneself . The Creator gives maximum grace - rain water to the mountains & mountains just cannot keep all the grace to themselves. Mountains after getting drenched have to pass those exuberant excess rain water to places which are flat fields & desert-like places that are badly in need of that grace. Mountains are never insecure about gifting what they have received knowing fully well -unlimited grace is on the way and they are bound to receive loads of it .

So friends, just trust & drench fully in moments of joy presented to us – we never know where these beautiful moments can lead you to. It is not with how many drops, for how long as they fall on you but it is all about how deep you drench in those moments of joy - that counts in the end . Wish you all a very fulfilled & happy drenched journey called life—& remember the destination is always incidental !
